Young People's Concert
featuring Westwater Photochoreography

The Young People’s Concert, traditionally for students in grades 4-6, is a full-
orchestra event in a concert hall setting. Students experience classical music in an
engaging, age-appropriate way while recognizing how music relates to other
content areas. The program changes from year to year and often includes a recorder play along piece.
Program - In Remembrance: Civil War
To commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War, the orchestra will collaborate with Westwater Arts amazing photochoreography. This innovative art form engages audiences with evocative multi-image photographic essays choreographed and performed live to classical music. Explore American History through historic images of the Civil War era and Westwater exclusive photos of the splendor of our nation. Under the direction of Associate Conductor Matthew Brown.
Due to the Academic Content Standard connections for this concert, the grade level has been expanded to Grades 4 through 8.
