Roundtable Discussions - Gaining More Perspectives
July 21: 2-3:30pm
This professional development will count as 1.5 contact hours through the Stark County ESC.
There are so many guidelines and so many resources in the world right now for music teachers as they prepare for the coming year. Join together with other music teachers online to hear a variety of perspectives on the challenges of this coming year. Come away from this professional development with a network to turn to and some new perspectives for your classroom.
Participants will be broken up into groups to discuss a variety of topics including community building, retention of students, advocacy for your program, and performing in the coming year. These conversations will be moderated by Michele Monigold, Jeffrey Grogan, and Dr. Soo Han.
Professional development through the Canton Symphony Orchestra.
This two hour professional development session will discuss scenario planning for music teachers as we face an uncertain future in the COVID-19 pandemic. We will discuss the scenario planning model, strategies for advocacy for your program, tips for different program types and more. This session will feature presentations by Michelle Charles, Gail Martino, Denise Seachrist, Rachael Fleischaker, Jason Wyse and Britt Cooper and will leave time for discussion and idea development.
This session is free and open to anyone interested. Donations to the Canton Symphony Orchestra are greatly appreciated as we look to provide more of these opportunities in the future.
