Brahms and the Schumanns

Brahms and the Schumanns

April 4, 2020 @ 7:30 pm

Umstattd Performing Arts Hall | Directions

Being a female composer in the 1800s often meant very little recognition for your work, especially when you’re also married to a prominent composer of the time. This concert shows off the quiet genius of Clara Schumann, along with works by her husband and compositional partner Robert Schumann, and their well-known student, Johannes Brahms. We feature local pianist Angela Cheng (she teaches at Oberlin College!) on piano.
