Participants will be asked to volunteer for two community events throughout the summer. Students can sign up below!

Sarah Schmidt will give us a glimpse into the state of public education in America and some of the inequities that exist that put some student populations at a severe disadvantage. Why do these issues exist and is there anything we can do to find solutions?
Dr. Ana Abrantes – Director of Education, Sphinx Organization
June 29 – 10:15-11:15am
The Sphinx Organization focuses on giving music education opportunities to Black and Latinx students. Why did they start this program? What does it look like now? How can we learn from what they are doing and employ this in our own community?

What does it take to be a music educator? This panel of local educators will share their career paths, why they teach, and the challenges they see in the field. Where do they see the need for solutions and what do they see as the pathway forward?
