Michael Roemer

Baritone

Baritone Michael Roemer received his Master’s degree in Opera Performance from University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Bachelor’s degree in Voice Performance from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he also studied piano and organ. Favorite appearances have including leading characters in The Marriage of Figaro, The Consul, La Boheme, Don Pasquale, Dido and Aeneas, and Don Giovanni.

He was an artist with Chicago A Cappella,, and performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago Chorus. Mr. Roemer was a young artist with both Des Moines Metro Opera (Des Moines, Iowa), where he performed the role of Director in Les Mamelles de Tirésias and La Musica Lirica (Novafeltria, Italy), where he played Marcello in La Boheme. Mr. Roemer is a two-time Metropolitan Opera National Council Encouragement Award winner and a finalist of the Handel Aria Competition (Madison, WI).

Mr. Roemer lives in North Canton, Ohio with his wife, soprano Jennifer D’Agostino and son Henry. He is the Music Director at St. Paul’s Catholic Church of North Canton and appears throughout Ohio as a teacher, conductor, pianist, and soloist. He recently collaborated with Daniel Overly in the 2016 Baldwin-Wallace Art Song Festival (Berea, Ohio) and the 2016 Oxford Lieder Festival Mastercourse.
