Singer and songwriter Shelby Olive joins musicians from the Canton Symphony Orchestra as part of our Divergent Sounds Series. Originally slated for 2020, we are ecstatic to welcome Shelby to Foundation Hall for an incredible performance.
Hailing from Akron, Ohio, Shelby’s sound has made waves in the indie pop culture of Ohio. Influenced by the sounds of Julia Michaels, Sara Bareilles, and Lauv, Shelby has combined her love of storytelling with catchy earworm melodies. With songs about jealousy, inadequacy, and the ups and downs of love– her music reflects her personality in an honest and open way. After damage to her vocal cords in early 2015 that would later require surgery and three months of complete silence, she relied heavily on songwriting to get her through it all.
Discover the new sound when two different musical genres are combined into one unique concert experience. Hear Canton Symphony Orchestra musicians perform with some of the region’s most popular artists. Concerts regularly sell out, so make sure to get your tickets early! Tickets are $20 and are available online or at the door.
