We are pleased to offer summer music camps for musicians of various ages. Students learn strategies to improve intonation, technique, reading comprehension, individual practice, and string camp participants receive sectional coaching with professional musicians from the Canton Symphony Orchestra.

Beginning String Camp

For beginning string students (violin, viola, cello, bass) who have been playing 6 months through Suzuki Book 3. Recommended for grades 4-6* (Fall 2019). The week will focus on building string technique and beginning string orchestral repertoire, music history and theory fundamentals as well as music and movement.

Intermediate String Camp

For intermediate & advanced string students who are in Suzuki Book 4 and higher. Recommended for grades 6-12* (Fall 2019). The week will focus on building string technique and intermediate orchestral repertoire as well as music history and theory fundamentals.

Cost: $350

Steel Drum Camp

This camp is intended for those interested in learning steel drum technique and is open to students with little or no experience on the instruments.  Participants will gain a basic understanding of steel drums through traditional and current musical selections.  It is recommended for students entering grades 6-12 in the Fall of 2019.

Cost: $100

Financial Aid:

A limited number of funds is available for scholarship assistance with string camp for youth who demonstrate financial need. Whole or partial scholarships are available to certain qualifying participants.
