Beginning String Camp

For beginning string students (violin, viola, cello, bass) who have been playing 6 months through Suzuki Book 3. Recommended for grades 4-6* (Fall 2018). The week will focus on building string technique and beginning string orchestral repertoire, music history and theory fundamentals as well as music and movement.

For intermediate & advanced string students who are in Suzuki Book 4 and higher. Recommended for grades 6-12* (Fall 2018). The week will focus on building string technique and intermediate orchestral repertoire as well as music history and theory fundamentals.

The Wind Ensemble Camp will be an intensive experience for advanced musicians interested in playing the staples of the wind ensemble literature.  Open to woodwinds (flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone), brass (trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba), and percussion.  Recommended for grades 9-12*(Fall 2018) and for musicians with a minimum of four years experience on their instrument.  We will spend the week exploring the music of Percy Grainger, Gustav Holst, Vincent Persichetti and others, as well as some music history and theory.

Cost: $350

 

Financial Aid:

A limited number of funds is available for scholarship assistance for youth who demonstrate financial need. Whole or partial scholarships are available to certain qualifying participants.
