Katherine DeJongh

Biography

Katherine DeJongh holds the position of Principal Flute with the Canton Symphony Orchestra and the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra of Columbus, and is a member of the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. She enjoys a versatile career as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, and teacher. She has performed throughout the United States and Europe, as well as Korea and the Middle East. Ms. DeJongh is on faculty at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she also serves as Chair of Orchestral Winds for the Preparatory Department. She received her Master of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music, Bachelor of Music from the University of Illinois, and attended the Interlochen Arts Academy. Teachers include Jeffrey Khaner, Mary Kay Fink, and Tim Day. Her most recent CD, entitled Twentieth Century Works for Flute and Orchestra, is available on the Centaur Records label.
