David Kahn
Principal Double Bass
David Kahn is Principal Bass of the Canton Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Akron Symphony. He also performs with the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra during the summer. David received his Bachelor degree studying with Orin O’Brien at the Juilliard School. He completed his Master of Music Degree in 2007 at Carnegie Mellon University. David is Adjunct Professor of Double Bass at Grove City College and holds a private teaching studio in the Akron area.
David has toured extensively throughout Europe, playing in such venues as the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg and Royal Albert Hall in London. He has participated in the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy and was Principal Bass with the National Repertory Orchestra. Active in the American new music scene, David has performed many times with Argento New Music and was a member of the New Juilliard Ensemble. David is originally from the San Francisco area.
