Project Description

The project features the renovation of Umstattd Hall at McKinley Senior High School.  The threadbare carpeting and 35 year old seats will be replaced, the lobby will be renovated and the bathrooms will be updated.

The Zimmermann Symphony Center will feature a branded entrance on the southern and western approaches to the McKinley High School campus. Opposite Blake Avenue, a large gravel student parking lot will be paved and segmented into sections that can be reserved on certain event nights to ensure that parking is available for Umstattd Hall events, even on nights when a conflicting athletic event on campus is scheduled on the same date with an earlier start time.

At a cost of about $139/square foot, a three-story, 20,600 square foot, L-shaped extension will be constructed against the western and southern walls of the existing Umstattd Hall. The administrative offices of the Symphony will move to the Zimmermann Symphony Center upon completion.
