CANTON SYMPHONY CHORUS

The Canton Symphony Chorus was founded in 1984 as a volunteer
adult ensemble. The Chorus rehearses weekly from mid-August
through April and performs major choral works with Music
Director GERHARDT ZIMMERMANN and the Canton Symphony
For the 2012-2013 season, the chorus will take part in three different series performances. On November 4, 2012, the chorus takes part in the MasterWorks series to perform Mahler's Symphony No. 2 in c minor (Resurrection). Then, the chorus will add its joyful spirit to the Pops Series by performing on the Holiday Brass concert, December 16, 2012. The last performance of the season for the chorus will be in the Casual Series on Thursday, March 14 and Friday March 15.
Past works performed by the Chorus include Haydn's Mass No. 12 in B-flat Major (Theresienmessse)the Brahms, Berlioz, Mozart and Verdi Requiems, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Vaughan Williams’ Antarctica Symphony, and Walton's Belshazzar's Feast.
Rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7:30-10:00 PM in the
