If you would like to audition for a substitute non-string position during the general auditions in Canton, please refer to the substitute position audition repertoire webpage.

 

The following are repertoire lists for section string openings.  Please prepare a solo of your choice plus the excerpts from the appropriate category.  Sight-reading is a possibility.  Also, please bring your own music and excerpts to the audition – none of the excerpts will be available at the auditions.

The current Master Agreement concerning wages is under negotiation, but the per service rate for the section string positions last season was $103.99, plus 5% pension contributions (AFM-EPF).  Per service rate for the first daily Ensemble service (up to 1- hour period) was $85.00.  Some services require daytime availability.

 

All applicants are required by federal law to demonstrate eligibility to accept employment with the Canton Symphony Orchestra.
