announces the following vacancy beginning in the 2018-2019 season
PRINCIPAL VIOLA
(approx. 55 services per season)
along with possible unconducted
Ensemble services (String Quartet, etc.)
Qualifications for this position will include but not be limited to: perform all solo viola orchestral passages and ensemble viola passages, bow all viola parts, set an example of the very best musicianship for the section and function in the manner consistent with professional musicians.
Auditions will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 11:30 – 2:00pm at Umstattd Performing Arts Hall, 2323 17th St. NW, Canton, OH 44708. Preliminary auditions will be held 11:30 – 1:00pm, with the final round beginning immediately after.
The current Master Agreement concerning wages is under negotiation, but the per service rate for the Principal Viola position last season was $129.99, plus 5% pension contributions (AFM-EPF). Per service rate for the first daily Ensemble service (up to 1-hour period) was $85.00. Some services require daytime availability.
