Grieg’s Piano Concerto

Grieg’s Piano Concerto

October 12 @ 7:30 pm

Umstattd Performing Arts Hall | Directions

As usual, we open the season with a piece by an American composer. This time it is contemporary composer Jennifer Higdon and her gorgeous blue cathedral. Eva Gevorgyan, a stunningly talented young woman (she’s 15!) joins us from Russia for her interpretation of Grieg’s Piano Concerto. She also was one of the winners last year in the Cleveland International Junior Piano Competition. The concert will end with Symphony No. 2 by Johannes Brahms. Who doesn’t love Brahms?

Click on the concert titles below to be taken to the program notes. You can also click here for a link to hear Eva play the first movement of the Grieg last year with Canton Symphony!
