Canton Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will be requiring that all patrons provide proof of vaccination or negative COVID test for entry to a performance of the CSO. Children under 12 years of age are exempt. Masks will also be required within the building. This decision follows a sharp rise in COVID-19 cases statewide and a growing number of similar announcements by cities, venues, and promoters nationwide.
Patrons will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated or proof of a negative test within 48 hours. Being fully vaccinated means that it has been at least two weeks since the second dose of either Pfizer or Moderna or two weeks past the single dose of Johnson and Johnson. Once inside the building, all patrons are required to wear a mask. These restrictions will remain in place indefinitely and are subject to change with current public health conditions and as guidance is reevaluated.
“Our orchestra has been silent for so long,” stated President & CEO, Michelle Charles. “The rise in cases once again threatens the live music industry. We needed to find a way to bring the music back.” The CSO remains committed to maintain safety for patrons, staff, and musicians. As conditions change, the policy may be modified.
